Question:
I have a 2000 Ford contour when I went to start it this morning it wouldn't start up the only thing that happened is the ABS light came on the windshield wipers were going and the lights inside on the roof would still come on. When i try to crank it i can hear a little click click noise. Can anyone tell me what this sounds like?
Answers:

My second cylinder is striped is there anything i can do to fix this? Thanks?
bad ignition and it needs replacingIs freon gas combustible? (fridge gas)?
Either a dead or bad battery.Get a jump and let it charge up while you drive it around for a while. Most auto parts stores will check your battery and alternator to see if they are ok..Just have to take them out of the vehicle and to the store..Most national stores (NAPA, AutoPlus, Murry's) will give you an honest opinion.Unreliable fuel gauge... can it be fixed?
its a starter alternator that the 2 things that go click or you might be spark plug but that a long shot but all 3 your car will not start ABS is a warring light that something is wrong take it inI have two good tires - do I put them on the front or back on a front wheel drive car and why?
As others have said it sounds like a battery related issue. Before you rush off to buy a new battery, make certain your battery terminals are clean and tight. Sometimes they can get a build up of "gooky white looking crud" on them, this can cause starting problems similar to a dead battery. If they look cruddy with a white powdery type stuff on them, clean them up real good then give it a shot. If that doesnt do it get your battery checked out...its probably bad.
BTW, your ABS light would have nothing to do with your car not starting. That light stands for your anti lock brake system i believe. It comes on for a split second when you try to crank your car.
Alternator, battery and or solenoid problem. Something was probably left on in the vehicle or you have created a short somewhere between the battery cable and the block or the starter. Check the battery cables. If the cables get next to something that is hot, it will melt the cable wrap and cause an arc thus creating a short. The casing around the cable wire may even be cracked due to the elements and this causes moisture and oxidation thus corroding the interior of the cable wire. Your ABS (anti lock braking system), comes on automatically at the turn of the ignition and goes off at the start of the motor. Chances are that you have a short in the electrical system but check the wiring, anyway.
