B&M QuikSilver shifter?

Question:
bout 67 mustang off of ebay. it as a B&M QuikSilver shifter installed. i took it from park and put it in 1 and it worked, but the i tried to put it in reverse and it wont go up to reverse. it goes in 1,2 ,D and N fine but after that the shifter will not move up i have tried pushing down on it pulling up and moving it to the sides please help.

It will lift up in D not in N. Once lifted in D, then you can move to R or P

The b&m site says all you have to do is lift up on the knob/shifter to get up into reverse or park...is it moving up? If not, you need to pull the console/boot to find out whiy it won't move up.
