Question:
It has a 3.8 litre V-6 engine with 82,000 ,miles on it. In high gear especially going uphill with light throttle the engine will surge slightly, it can also be noticed on the RPM gauge. surging up and down about 200 RPM's It has new spark plugs and I have changed the fuel filter, the old one was dirty somewhat. I thought for a day or so that corrected the problem but it has not. I have heard that these engines sometimes develp intake manifold leaks. If that were the case, does anyone know what the symtom of that issue would be. Any sugestions on a fix for this surging? Spark plug wires?, fuel injector issue?, any way I can test the intake manifold for leaks? It is cold and wet where I live today and my wife thinks it may be worse in those conditions.
Thanks

Power widow, air bag, power lock problem on a 1997 ford taurus?
They rarely leak bad enough to leave a puddle, unless they are really severe. And in that case they are normall putting antifreeze in the oil...
It could be the lock up converter as someone else has said...It could be the EGR also, but they will generally turn the check engine light on...The same goes for spark plugs and wires...The PCM can detect engine misfires, and will illuminate the check engine light if it detects multiple misfires...
More than likely it is the lock up converter. If there is only a 200 rpm fluctuation, I wouldnt worry about it too much..Normally if it is the Torque Converter Control Solenoid it will also set a Transmission Slip code also..
Does the primer color effect the color paint applied afterwards?
I would get you transmission filter changed and a transmission service done...I dont like going over 60,000 miles without that being done...If you wait too long to do a transmission service( filter and fluid change only) you will be better off not doing it later...If you get too much over 100,000 miles or you wait until there is already a problem, you will definitely applifie the problem by doing the service at that point

I have had my pocket bike for a year and i have had starting problems ever since.?
Any chance it's a manual transmission? Clutch could be slipping. Could the A/C compressor be cycling on and off?Can i use a new nissan key fob on an old key?
I presume you are talking high gear as in 45 mph or higher? Gm's have a lock up torque converter that doesn't lockup until 45, so if you are using a light pedal, it is possible shifting in and out of "overdrive"...that would account for about 200 rpm...No power to my Windshield Washer Fluid?
It's only a guess, certainly, but Gm's will seem like they are surging, when the lock up is engaging/disengaging with a very light pedal.
How to check the air intake when accelerating from 0 on a vauxhall corsa?
sounds like you are operating around normal shift point (speed/rpm) of OD and it is shifting back and forth. Either speed up enough to be in OD or **** out of OD into drive under these conditionsMore Questions & Answers ...
