89 ford escort wont start help!?

Question:
The engine cranks but sometimes wont start. When doesn't i'm not getting any spark or fuel from injector. The fuel pump primes when i first turn the key so its not the pump. If i crank on it long enough i will here a click under the dash (like a relay switch) and it will start right up. I've already checked the fuel pump relay and the eec relay and they are fine. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated if you actually know what your talking about.

sounds like the solenoids that are in each injector. they won't work right if they are worn out or malfunctioning.

find the relay under the dash that clicks when it does start and replace it. sounds like it is worn out and is shorting. making it work sometimes and soetimes not.
