oil shouldn't get to the valves!...you probably have a hung lifter...try a can of "Marvel Mystery Oil" avaialble at most autoparts stores... if this works add a can every oil change or a can of RisloneDoes anyone know how to stop my car from getting broken into?
If it has a loud knocking noise, it is most likely a bad rod. You will most likely have to rebuild the engine or get another one installed. If you're hearing the noise, it's probably too late to hope it is corrected by putting an oil pump in.get a oil pressure test to see if its within factory spec.
Battery Cable fails on 2002 Dodge Grand Caravan ES - Now I need to replace entire wiring harness?
If it is not getting oil to the cylinders then your pump is shot. Making knocking sounds is worse though, typically a "rod knock" from lack of oil. Either have your engine rebuilt or replaced as it will not operate much longer. My car's "check engine" light is on, but my car's full of oil. What else could it be?
It's unlikely the pump problem. If the engine is ALREADY noisy, good chances are it's gone. No oil in the upper end means that the lower end bearings are worn our, and there is not enough pressure/volume to compensate for that.ABS Warning Light on dashborad. What does it mean?
If you're not getting oil flow to the valves, you're not getting enough anywhere else either. You'd be insane to spend a lot of money trying to find and fix all the bad bearings in that thing. You need a rebuilt. You can get anywhere from a decent used engine to an expensive, but better than new Jasper.More Questions & Answers ...
