95 Mirage A/T Transmission issue??
new altenator?...you probably have the belt tension to tightIf it's the alternator itself making the noise then you are probably going to need it repairing or replacing. I'd take it to your local auto electrician - if he's anything like mine he'll be very very helpful and not rip you off like some garages. They are not as expensive as you might think (assuming you don't drive an aston martin)

Are you sure it's the alternator itself - squirt a little WD40 on the belt - sometimes they can make some strange noises if they are newYou say its a new altenator check that the pulleys are in correct alignment and take it back to where it was fitted its not normal.
Where in phx az can i get a high peformance 350chevy motor?
Did you fit the new alternator yourself? Check how tight the fan belt is.Not tight enough and the belt will slip and cause a horrible screeching noise. Too tight will put strain on the alternator bearings and cause the alternator to whine.
I had the same problem, but touch of WD40 on to the belt did the trick for me. Good luck.

If the fan belt is set at the right tension, then it could be that the bearing is worn in the alternator..sorry need new alternator.Where is the Speed Sensor on a 1999 Ford Taurus?
What kind of an idiot tells people to spray oil on fanbelts? If the belt has a spring loaded tensioner, all you can do is make sure you know what's causing the noise. If it really is the alternator, they might have sold you one with bad bearings. If the belt is manually adjusted, they might have gotten it too tight.
