stick shift. most definitly. my dad and brother are both mechanics. What has been you most unlucky day?
they always say that an automatic is better because a stick shift breaks all the time. and wears out.
well for me personally with a standard you usually go through clutches and autos usually just break. But it all depends on how you drive, and if the vehicle you drive has problems in general with the tranny
manual transmissions usually only break if you push them really hard, i personally prefer manual
Transmission Solenoid and Sensors in a 98 Ford Windstar...?
It's a 50/50 thing, Standreds do burn out clutches, but only if you drive them hard and ride the clutch. Automatics burn up as well, the thing you shoud look at is whats cheaper, It's easier and cheaper to replace a clutch, then it is to rebuild an automatic transmisson. Standreds transmisson burn up as well, but that becasue people abuse them, it also helps to change the oil on both once in a while, best to check the manufacturers specs. How to replace car thermostat?
Its true you do burn clutches in manuals, especially when you drive hard all the time. but then consider a clutch as a consumable that you will need to replace one day. The cost of that is nothing compared to a new automatic box.Personally I prefer Manuals you have more direct control of the car, but thats just me.
It usually depends on the driver's ability to engage a clutch, and shift gears correctly on a manual transmission (in the case of manual vs automatic transmissions). Of course there ARE some transmissions (both automatic and manual) that may be problematic in a particular car model.Specifically regarding a Porsche Boxster,I haven't head anything negative about the manual transmissions.
How often are you suppose to change tranmission fluid in a car?
This is a trick question. You do not buy a Porsche Boxster with an automatic transmission. That is just plain silly and a waste of a good car.More Questions & Answers ...
