Question:
I drive a Mitsubishi Magna and have popped a tyre. I dont have a key for the lock nuts on the wheels and was wondering if there is a cheap option to getting them off (prefer not to pay a mechanic hundreds). I am female and completely car illiterate, so keep it in simple terms for me :) If anyone know someone that could fix it cheap in Perth, Australia that would be awesome!

HAHAHA how do you get your nuts off your wheel HAHAHAat what temp should I warm my car?
well i dont know about the parts stores in perth austrailia but you can try one of them and see if they have a stripped nut remover for lugnuts and use that if you were closer i would do it for you for twenty bucks its not all that hard to do if you cant find one use a half inch drive socket that is just a little larger then the lugnut that you are trying to get off drive it on with a hammer and then use a long handle ratchet to loosen you will probably destroy the socket so hopefully you have a lifetime warranty on it1997 Dodge Intrepid wont stay running.?
My cousin once lost the key for his alloys, the wheels were factory mags on his GM and the dealer was able to get him replacement. On my friend's car the nuts stuck out enough that we were able to clamp a good set of locking pliers onto them and released them that way. If they sit flush to rim that won't be possible.2000 Buick Regal with a blinking dash?
go to the dealer or a local shop and either they can cut it of or have a special key to take your wheels offBummer, Depends on what sort of lock nuts they are? If they are the ones that stick out you can get a hammer and chisel on them and tap them loose, but if they sit into the wheel its going to be hard, you would need to go to a mechanic.
Can I fix my alternator with only a crescent wrench?
Take a photo (or some means of trying to identy the maker of the lug nut ) to a car parts store and see if you can find the brand and name. You can also try a tire store and calling the local road service (AAA ?) they must have this problem happen more often then not.I had minor car accident and caused a small 10/12 cm ding to other vehicle. THen contact the manufacturer and see if they can supply a key nut to either you or a bonded locksmith.

You can try a locksmith directly, but then you willhave to pay for a service call and they likely won't have anthing instock. A phone call to one would not be a bad idea, however. You might get a better suggestion.

good luck. Worst case is someone with a small grinding saw will cut the head of the nut into a lug nut and then you will get it off that way.. but that will take some doing.
what can cause my car not to stop?
There really isn't a cheap alternative. Those nuts are for preventing theft, without the key you are up a creek without a paddle. You are gonna have to bite the bullet on this one. Sorry.Call the place the wheels came from and ask them.

There are special sockets and tools for removing these. However your best bet is talk to a local tire shop first, most have experience removing locking lug nuts without keys, and have the tools to do so without harming anything.ford ranger oil pressure problem?
What I've always done in the past is to take a socket that is just a hair smaller than the locking lug nut, and beat it on with a rather large hammer, then remove. Its always worked for me, but I'd use it as a last resort.

Can someone tell me...........................?
Buy one of those cheap garbage sockets sets, the 40 peice for $5 that are made in china. The sockets are made of very soft metal. You can hammer the 1/2 socket or its the 7/16th into the key pattern, then use the ratchet to get it loose.i have had a tracker put on my work van is there any way i can use it nad not get cought?
get a socket that barely fit it. use a hammer and bang the socket into the wheel lock about a 3/8 deep. use a rachet and turn it slowly. DO NOT use air tool. they do sell wheel lock tool kit but it cost alot.More Questions & Answers ...
