I'm guessing 174 hp would be a V6 or a 4s/4i.

no such thing as 174 cylinders.. maybe 174 ci. meaning a 174 cubic inches which is the size of the motor...lol and they guy posting the comment about the caddy having 32 cylinders.. thats actually 32 valves... 4 valves per cylinder x 8 cylinders = 32 valves..

You can't have that many cylinders in a block. The North Star by Cadillac has 32 and it holds from 7.7 to 8 quarts of oil! You'd never fill the engine if it has 174 cylinders! check and make sure it's not hp. bhp or torque.Should I replace my engine or rebuild it?
I think you mean 174 "ci" which is the size of the engine in cubic inches. That's the way car engine size used to be determined.I think that's a 4 cylinder engine, although it could be a small V6.
