Question:
When the engine is cold started it acts like it's running on 3 cylinders until it runs for about 30-60 seconds, then smooths out and runs normally. It has the 2.0l FI engine with the small valve cover.
I suspect a valve lifter isn't working right, but would like to hear other opinions.
Answers:
Its also possible you have an injector thats failing. Sounds like the motor is loading up to me. That means its getting too much fuel. when the engine is in open loop it gives a certain amount of fuel to run the engine. then after it reaches a certain tempature it closes the loop. that means that its reading all the sensors and adjusting the fuel accordingly.
