My car keeps going through selinoid switches. My husband doesn't think it's the battery or starter (he has experience working on cars). He replaced it once and a week later it went out again. He exchanged that one and it did the same thing and went out a week later. Anyone have any ideas on what it could be?

battery may be to low and putting to much on it. Starter may be dragging.
Starter is "tired" and drawing more amperage than the solenoid is designed to handle.
Have it load tested for amp draw.

Bad ground wire between the engine and the chassis. It causes the voltage to the solenoid coil to be too low and it chatters while you're cranking the engine, burning up the contacts. I bet you have other electrical problems too.More Questions & Answers ...
