An average quality, that you won't be ashamed to drive around in, will probably be around $2000-$3000 or so. Less if you're handy and can strip off the bumpers, trim, lights and so on and put them back after the paint. More if you want hte shop to pull the windows and re-install with new gaskets.

Very difficult question to answer cos in reality there is no answer.If your looking for a factory finish colour job then a grand is a bit on the lower end of the bracket. A decent spray with a warranty willl be somewhere around a two grand figure, If your looking for a cheap cover up job, then any back street garage might charge around 5 to 600 quid. A one man band that needs a bit of cash may charge you 400 or so,

As stated by others here, it won't be 'cheap', if done correctly. That being said, I'll give you an example. My son had his '99 Mitsubishi Spyder GS done three (3) years ago. The color was changed from Artic White to White Pearl. Prep work, including removal of ALL trim and body work was done before taken to the paint booth. When the color was applied, it was really sharp looking........THEN came the bill. For changing the color, which wasn't much of a change, not like going from a dark to light or vise versa, the cost for just the application was $3750.00 (US $) and six month later the Spyder was knived. The insurance company balk at the repair and only the damage side was redone. Now the vehicle has two(2) shades of Pearl White, on the same side.To have a car shot, you must remove all molding, including sill plates and door weather strips. Pull all light assemblies, headlamps, tail-lights, side markers, etc. Remove the doors' exterior handles, outside mirrors, front & rear bumpers (unless they are color molded plastic).
As you can see, it can be and expensive venture. Even if you are confident enough to do most of the prep work yourself.

The funniest color change I've seen was, pardon the term, a hillbilly used spray cans, about a case worth (12 units). It was back in 1970 and the vehicle was 1968 Javelin AMX. The original color was white, with blue interior. The color change was to Emerald Green. Jimmy, the hillbilly, painted the car in his yard, under the hot summer sun..........you getting the picture? Jimmy thought it look 'cool'............I broke of the friendship with his sister after that, poor Sue was heartbroken. What a waste of a 'to be classic', and girlfriend.
