How long would it take a car thief to get a DISKLOK off my car.?
I cannot believe some of the moronic answers that this type of question attracts. Brake fluid in th uk is made up of diffent oils mixed together to produce the properties required to enable it to cope with the extreme temperatures etc that it encounters. ALL cars should have the brake fluid changed every 2 years maximum why ? because brake fluid is HYGROSCOPIC this means that it absorbs water which of course is present in the atmosphere and as the master cylinder on a braking system is ventilated then the brake fluis will absorb the moisture from the atmosphere. Whats does this mean, its very simple brake fluids are designed to operate with temperatures of up to and including over 1,000 degrees centigrade, this gives you a problem when you consider barkes work on the principle that you cannot compress a fluid, if you try thats how you get movement that operates the brakes. However what about moisture? well moisture is basically water which as we all know has a boiling point of 100 degrees centigrade now this will cause you a problem if yoru braking heavily and the temperature in the braking system is rising rapidly, once you get a temp of 100 degrees plus if the brake fluis hasnt been changed when specified the water in the fluid will start to boil and the brake pedal will start to fade away until it vanishes totally!!!What causes bad car wheel alignment?
I might sound like an old fart but i dont care but if you dont know the proper answer dont answer safet critical questions in this section i spent 15 years as a recovery mechanic recoering vehicles from accidents ! if you saw some of the sights i saw you would understand why vehicle safety is so critical.

read owners manual or just add some fluidIs not having enought radiator fluid a cause for lowered gas mileage?
Brake fluid as far as I know doesn't get changed unless there is something wrong with the brakes that the fluid needs to be bled. Other than that you just keep it full.1998 BWM 323is serpentine belt Diagram?
It's time, not mileage that you should consider. About every 3 years is sufficient, that is if you always keep the fluid topped off to reduce the amount of moisture (condensation) that can be introduced into the system. You should look in the owners manuel .Most manufactures rec.replacing fluid every 2 years.
Ok should i MYSELF fix the head gasket or put in a use engine?
Brake fluid NEVER needs to be changed unless:1. Brake system failure that allows contamination to fluid system

For the average driver, none of the above apply and you can drive for the life of the car without changing the fluid.
Be clear, however, that brake fluid may need to be added if there are leaks!

Every 15000 miles or 3 yearsFusesThat Control Windows, Locks For A 1996 PONTIAC BONNEVILLE?
It's normally every two years. Mileage isn't important, time is. Over time hydraulic fluid can absorb moisture which, if it gets too much, causes corrosion in the braking system and can even boil under braking & you lose your brakesWhat engine parts are interchangable?
Only change your brake fluid if there is a problem with your braking system. But then you don't change it you just keep topping it up whilst bleeding the system, otherwise you will get air in it. Don't do it yourself, take it to somebody who knows about it. xxx91 Honda Civic Turns Over but Won't Start?
Not to many cars go without some sort of brake fluid change, with every brake job there is some fluid drained off and replaced. Most brake shops can do this for you if you ask them about it. But if you want it all replaced, then you must drain the reservoir first( old turkey baster) and fill it to almost over flow with new brake fluid. Go to the farthest wheel from the reservoir and open the bleeder valve till the fluid starts to drain. When the reservoirs drains to almost half, refill it and allow it to drain down to half again.Tighten down the bleeder valve and continue that same procedure with the other three wheels. You wont need to press the brake pedal for this , gravity will not allow any air back up through the bleeder valve. This will take almost to full bottles of brake fluid (32 oz)so you'll have to plan accordingly. Brake fluid nearest the calibers and or brake drums is the fluid that really gets abused , it breaks down under the tremendous heat and pressure from stop and go driving. Brake fluid can last about 30,000 miles before it starts to lose its ability to absorb heat.It starts to boil and break down over time, a soft pedal brake pedal under a very hard stop it your first sign off fluid failure.

every 3 yrs is the norm , ( cant beleave some of the answers on here !! )Buick Regal 1991 question!PLEASE HELP!?
you never need to change brake fluid unless it gets contaminated. Anyone that tells you to do so is just trying to make money off you. Look in the owners manual for any make or model car and you will never find mention of changing it. Just like the power steering fluid changes these shops are doing. They are just running out of way to make money so they do unnecessary things to make money98 Ford Mustang GT suspension problems.?
