if you look at the gearbox from the front of the car you will see it.

Would it be really expensive to get an old car that runs, but needs to be restored?
Gear oil is a very thick lubercant used mainly in transfer cases and rear differentials. It is also used in manual tranny's. Use it in one fo these 3 spots, and you should be ok.Marty
its called lube and you put it over your rod, and then put it in any hole you can find ;-)

You have already mentioned it Gear Oil.Go to a Garage and ask.How do i check an o2 sensor to see if it is bad or not?
I never heard of a Ford Orion, but don't put gear oil in the engine. If it goes anywhere it would be in a differential, or a manual transmission. If it is automatic, and front wheel drive, it probably doesn't go anywhere in your car.Its odd that you would need it unless your leaking it. Gear oil is actually called gear oil and comes in a few varieties so you'll need to go to a decent autoparts store who'll tell you what you need, or halfords and hope for the best.
Not sure where the inlet is on an orion, on vauxhalls its at the top of the gearbox and a right pig to get to if you dont have a pump. If your lucky its different on fords.
Probably easier to get the fluid yourself and ask a local garage to do a full gear oil change, prob cost you about £20
Will low voltage damage a 12 volt dc motor?
If I'd just bought a 1993 Ford Orion,I'd keep quiet about it!!Gear oil obviously goes in the gearbox but where the filler hole is I've no idea except that it will be part of the gearbox casing.
You are better checking with a main dealer .
