Answers:

I have a stick shift car with 135k miles on it. The car was just jerking every once in a while when I drive.?

That should hold about 3.7L and yes you can use any name brand oil filter, no need for the "synthetic oil filter". Check oil level again once you've driven it but allow it to cool down first so oil will come back down into pan. I use synthetic all the time with the regular fram filter on my Honda.

I have a Ford A/C R134 with 0 pressure and won't accept a charge even if compressor is running.?

Put in the exact amount the dipstick implies it needs.
And if you can afford synthetic, don't use the $1.68 oil filter.
It doesn't have to say Mobil 1 on it, but I ue at least a $6 filter on my cars. I've tried the "house brand" filters before, but when I pulled out of my drive one day in my winter beater, the oil filter didn't like it being 10 degrees F outside, and left a nice trail of oil down my drive. It was coming right out of the seam, not the seal. I never went back!
