A machine shop might be able to plane your old one smooth.Any repair shop will have contact with suppliers who will replace the head. Unless its on your Briggs and Stratton lawn mower, this is a big do it yourself job , so get the professional to do it and to guarrantee their work.

If your head is truly warped, JUNK IT. Whether it is aluminum or cast, throw it out. If you have an older v-8, they are cheap to replace and well worth it. No matter what you have, warping is usually, not always caused by improper torquing sequencing by whoever installed the head (S). There are other reasons it could be warped, so I would make sure you cover all the bases before sticking time and money into a project that will in the end result in another warped head. Warped heads are like a car after an accident, you take them somewhere to get repaired, yet they'll never be as good as new. My advise, junk it.More Questions & Answers ...
