Question:
I went to AutoZone and had them check the computer with the scanner cuz my engine light is on and they said it was the EGR system. I had the EGR valve and EGR solenoid replaced about a year ago. What else is there??

How do I remove a spoiler from a car?
More than likely, you replaced those two parts for nothing because all you needed was a DPFE (differential pressure feedback EGR) sensor. This is an extremely common mistake people who are unfamiliar with Fords make. This sensor is connected to the EGR tube, via two rubber hoses (one thin, one thick). Go to your local Ford dealer parts department and ask for part number F77Z-9J460-AB for the part you need. If the rubber hoses are cracked, replace those too. That's what happens when you go to Auto Zone. It is the less expensive alternative, but remember they are NOT mechanics. This means they can give you the "free" codes that are present, but it means nothing if neither of you understand its meaning. The DPFE volts at idle SHOULD read 0.99 volts at idle. If the reading is 4.99 volts, this means either an open ciruit to the DPFE sensor, or a failed DPFE (which is the most common failure on all Fords). This data can only be accessed with a SCAN TOOL WITH LIVE DATA, not those code readers. Hope this helps.More Questions & Answers ...
