Toyota Corolla burning a lot of gas?

Question:
I dont know if it's a fuel leak or a stuch fuel pump valve or what, but my car is supposed to get up to 30 mpg and some get 35, and it gets 20. With the gas prices to high, i am not a happy camper. i just has a major tune up, a transmission service, and an all fluid flush. So, in terms of maintenance, it's been maintained. I am wondering, if it is a fuel leak, how to tell that apart from a problem with a fuel pump. the cars also is hard to start if it has sat for a while, usually takes about 6-8 seconds for the engine to start. could that be part of it?

Whoever you have do the tune up, take it back and have them double check their work. The hard start is possibly done to too much fuel in the combustion chamber when it attempts to start. This would indicate that an Injector is leaking. (Assuming it is fuel injected. You never gave a year.) You may also have a fouled plug or a bad plug, defective wire, or a bad or weak coil/coil pack. Did you have anything done with the fuel system when they did the full tune up? Is this problem the reason you had the work done? The other thing that affects mileage is the air pressure in your tires. If they are low it creates more drag and the car has to work harder. Check the air pressure, make sure they are around 32-35 PSI. If there was a fuel leak you would be able to smell gas. Do you smell fuel at all? If you do then yes there is a leak. If not then your fuel consumption is from the motor. Hope this helps.

My cadliac will not start because of the srs how do i by pass it?

The start up is probably a bad spark plug which may or may not have anything to do with the high fuel consumption. I'd check the engine to make sure everything is okay because if it does have something to do with the fuel line it will be pretty obvious.

Little droplets of oil are spitting through my exhaust pipe; what could this signify?

I don't know if that car has fuel injection, but that could also be the problem - the injection system could be cloggy.

Where can I get a cheap muffler for my riding lawnmower engine is a briggs & stratton model 311700 part #69085

Without using technical terms such as "cloggy", I'd take a
look at the fuel pressure regulator. The part is $130, and I'm
pretty sure it'll take care of your problem.

Can anyone please tell me what wires i need to connect on a temp sender?

Your car should have an oxygen sensor located on the exhaust system.Check for a loose or broken wire.If the wire is good you may want to buy a new sensor, they are not very expensive and this may correct the problem. If you have a bad oxygen sensor the cars computer will adjust the fuel to keep the engine running using up to much fuel.Good luck I hope I was of help.Oh,my son just walked in and said to make sure you have a clean air filter,he said to check that first and he could be right he is a very good mechanic and a very smart young man.
