How do you reset the theft light on a 1997 Ford Mustang GT?
It depends on where you're located. what brand of parts the shop uses, and the availibility of parts. the shop i work at, on average its about $200-$250CDN per C/V joint, the cheapest and best way of doing this it to replace the axel instead of repairing the joint. There are 2 joints in the axel and if one brakes the other is soon to follow. and you'll be paying the same price to do the other one when it brakes. go with a new axel, it won't cost too much more, but in the long run it will be cheaper.i need help installing my horn?
a C/V or constant volosity joint is a joint that creates a movable bend. so and axel can turn and move up and down at the same time without brakeing, this is common for a C/V joint to wear out, I had to replace one in my old car. didn't take me more then an hour to do (approx an hours labour at my shops currant shop rate which is $92/hour CDN, I don't pay for labour if i do it on my own time) and the axel cost me about $120 CDN. if you replace the joint the part is about $20 for the joint and about $20 for the boot and greese, but you're looking at a lot more in labour approxamatly 2 hours worth, so in the long run, your pretty much getting to the same spot, but with older parts.
