Question:
What do you think if the best thing we can do to prevent the exterior of our cars from rusting?
I don't mean oilspraying or crown rusting because that is only for the underbody.. I mean the actualy exterior that has paint on it.

i own a shop and the cleaner you keep it and keep it waxed really good the better it helps to fight off the things that cause it to rust like salt and grime that builds up on it,anything you can do to help keep it really clean ,will also help it not to rust,salt and sand is a cars worst enemy as far as rust goes,and eventually it will get them,all you can do is try and keep it as clean as possible,good luck hope this helps.Reseting ODB2 Cycle on 2002 Impala?

My hubby sprays WD-40 on any places starting to rust-it's the only thing that will lubricate exterior.If you live in the north, where salt is used, wash your car frequently to remove all salt.

Keep it waxed with carnuba wax , not just from the car wash. Carnuba come from the auto parts store and is a natural wax. If you get tar on it, from roadwork use cold water and one of those microfiber cloths. The cold water removes it without smearing it all over. The microfiber cloth traps the tar and rips it off without damaging your paint. About twice a year or more, give it a heavy coat of carnuba. All the rubbing is worth it. A bucket and sponge wash with a few drops of dishwashing detergent(Joy is the hotrodders favorite, because you can dilute it to clean window tint) and a hose rinse are not hard work. Whether you chamois it down is up to you. Then, when its dry, the carnuba!
