Question:
For all of you car pro's out there, I was wondering what could I do to spruce up a Buick Lesabre (oldsmobile) 307? Can I add rollers, cam, etc.
Or what could I do to just have a solid quite ride to the engine? Would changing all of the gaskets do the trick or what?
Answers:
Changing a tire, but the lug nuts are on too tight.?
you could do all of that but it would still have a Buick 307 in it. There are lots of things you could do depending on where you live and the age of the vehicle. If you do a lot to the engine you will probably need to do some work to the transmission as well. Need more infoIf im getting my hood painted, will there be any tax?
The Oldsmobile 307, code "Y" engine was made for a number of years and million of them were on the road. For the most part they are pretty decent small V-8's but they are not hot rod engines by any stretch. The biggest weakness they have is a tendency to blow out intake manifold gaskets. My rear view mirror fell off... How do..?
Gaskets aren't going to do much, if anything to improve performance. If you want a solid engine you already have one, maybe a dual exhaust system system to give it a bit of rumble.
arr you wanting more speed?if so,then you could take the heads off and have them shaved and put new head gaskets on them, that will give you a little more horses.yea you can put a 3/4 cam in it and roller rockers, solid lifters, double roller timing chain.of course if you want to out all the way, just install some small block heads on it(like a 350 olds, buick,or pont) good luck with your car.
