The "head gasket sealant " you put in is most likley why you need to flush the radiator.

no, i used to work for Lube Stop and believe me there is no way a coolant flush will wash away the sealant.

Should I run my car's engine whilst my foot is in plaster?

Absolutely not. The gasket is primarily what makes the seal. The sealant just fills in tiny imperfections to make the surface absolutely flush. As long as the head is torqued to spec, there's no way that coolant will get between the gasket and the sealing surfaces.

Stupid car?

If you used great gobs of sealant, that was unnecessary, and most of it squeezed out when you torqued down the head. The sealant that extruded into the cooling and oil passages would be more of a worry than whether it dissolves in radiator flush.
