have autozone run a code scan to tell you for sure - they will do it for free tell you code meaning name of part cost of part and so on most cost effective way to deal with it .How can i make my fan in my car blow more air?
Well before you try and changing the water pump try this first. Drain all the anti-freeze and water out of the radiator and flush it out then put some new anti-freeze and water in it and if that doesn't work you need a water pump.have an auto parts store or oil change place use an OBD1 sensor that plugs in under your steering wheel, it spits out codes. it sounds like your water pump. have it checked first.
FIRST OF ALL CHECK YOUR COOLANT AND SEE IF IT'S LOW. IF IT IS IT COULD BE A WATER PUMP BUT IF IT'S A QUAD FOUR ENGINE IT WELL MAY BE A HEAD GASKET.THIS ENGINE IS KNOWN FOR THAT BUT IF IT'S A 3.1 IT COULD BE AN INTAKE LEAK.HAVE A SHOP DO A PRESSURE TEST OF YOUR COOLING SYSTEM AND THAT SHOULD ANSWER YOUR QUESTION. IF YOUR COOLANT IS LOW BE SURE TO ADD SOME BEFORE DRIVING IT AGAIN. IT WILL BE A YELLOW BOTTLE ON THE SIDE OF THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT.MAKE SURE THE ENGINE IS NOT HOT WHEN YOU OPEN THE TANK.
