I have a 2001 Saturn Sc1 3 door. 1.9 litre. I was wondering if anyone can give me a link to a site that has detailed instructions on how to put a new clutch into this car. I asked a mechanic how much it would cost roughly to replace, and he said about $1000. I dont think I want to spend that much money having it replaced by my a mechanic, and decided Im gonna make it a project and replace it myself. Any help would be great. The parts are a few hundred, plus hes planned on charging me $80/hour, plus he said it should take roughly 12 hours to replace.

First put the car on jack stands, take the wheels off, undo the lower control arms, pull the CV joints out of Tranny, undo all eletrical and linkage, place jack under the motor and raise just alittle, undo Tranny mount, front motor and rear motor mount, but leave outside motor mount on, undo Tranny bolts, lower motor all the way down, pull Tranny off, then undo bolts on Pressure plate, rmove Pressure Plate and clutch pad, look inside Tranny and undo the Throw out Bearing, then you can put new on and repeat steps from end to start.What is the "catch" to the Hyundai warranty?
wuts a clutchYou do realize that you need to either drop the transmission or pull the engine to do the cluth right, and that the hydrolics on a cluth are very picky. If you don't know what you're doing out of experiance instruction arn't goign to help you. There is a lot to go into it. I've done a few, and I've had hoists to work with the car 6 feet in the air. I would really suggest taking it to him. Cluthces arn't that complicated, but if you don't have any knowledge there is a lot to go wrong.
