Maintainence Of a Fiat?

Question:
Hi people, I am thinking of getting a fiat, however I am a little concern about the maintainence of the car. I heard that to maintain and service the car would cost a bomb. Besides that the parts are not cheap.

Car question - belt?

Could anyone advice on this?

2000 buick regal check engine light?

I had a Fiat once back in the early 70's At 42,000 mi. it blew the #3 piston because I was told that they use cast and not forged pistons( ever other automaker did at the time) In 1975 it cost me $1200 to have this engine rebuilt. I paid $1200 for it. At the same time you could buy a Chevy big block 454ci with 460 hp for the same price. It was a neat car and it handled like a formula 1 car but didn't run any better than aFlathead Ford V8
