This is an out of pocket expense and I can't locate a reasonably priced used hood (you need to buy the whole front quarter). The front right had a pretty good dent in it and it will close but not lock.

Installing a hood is pretty easy as long as you have at least one person helping (2 is ideal). Basically all you do is unbolt the four bolts that hold it on, put the new one on and put the bolts back in, but only tighten them to snug, shut the hood, check the clearances on each side and front to back, then make adjustments by loosening the bolts and sliding the hood slightly in whatever direction it needs to go then re snugging the bolts, don't tighten them until you have a good alignment. I'm surprised no one will sell you just a hood. Depending on how bad it is sometimes they're fixed, but if its a crinkled they ussually replace it because its virutally impossible to straighten it out and make it look right.New fuel sending unit and new fuel gauge.How do you match the two so it works correctly ?
Most of the time a replacement hood is cheaper than repairing the damaged part. Hoods are fairly easy to replace. Just be careful and patient. Have a friend help. An extra pair of hands make it much easier.More Questions & Answers ...
