Question:
It has 104000 miles I am hearing a noise(not in brakes)from the front end.I hear a grinding noise when backing up
and a high pitch humming sound when going forward which goes away after driving awhile. The noise starts again all over after the car sits awhile.
I have had the breaks checked and it is not comeing from them.
What do you think it might be?
Answers:
Transmission leaking where housings meet on Dodge Ram 1500, what's involved in the fix?
How cold is it where you are... could have moisture in the front diff that freezes when it sits. Check the gear oil, if it's a milky colour change it out.transmission or differential if the humming starts and stop while driving forwardly check the wheel bering.
Does anyone know how to get STP gas treatment out of cloth car seats??
I say drive it into the river, you never know it may work.Check your wheel bearings and also the u-joints. The grinding makes me think something is worn out.
