Question:
so im getting really annoyed with my car i have a 89 chevy celebritythat is giving me grief...while im driving the engine light will come on and sonn after my spedometer will drop down to zero the funny thing is though is that i can feel my engine jerk when it does that and it jerks agian when it starts to work....but once it quits working if i take my foot of the gas the batterry drops down and the car stalls and will not start after unless i rev the engine and then i have to pop it into drive till it starts working agian...the batterry is brand new ive checked spark plugs, ran out a whole tank of fuel in case of bad gass and all the fluids seem to be fine so im really lost on this one...ive talked to people that have more knowledge of cars then me and they have no idea either so im hoping someone can save me here

its called a carbon trail when the spark jumps to ground throu the cap just thought youd like to know for some reason, for the poster- take it a shop and have the machine hooked up so you dont spend alot of money on this one replacing parts. it could be alot of things. How do you obtain maximum service life of my vehicle's battery?
Im not so sure what it may be, try getting your Chevy Computer Diagnosed at your local repair shop, BEFORE you start replacing parts left and right..."My own experiance-same car" it should'nt cost you more than $60.00 and they will most-likley pin point the trouble area... and you are NOT obligaded to have them fix it, once you find the trouble you may be able to do it yourself! What is the difference in 10W-40 & 20W-50 motor oil?
I will mention it may be your cars on-board computer going bad.

my NEON felt LIKE it WAS out OF gas!?
Change your cap and rotor. You have a short somewhere. I had a Buick some time back that did this to me and it turned out it was a small spot on the bottom of the rotor that would ground out the ignition on me and stall the engine.More Questions & Answers ...
