Headlights turning themselves on ~ problem with stick?

Question:
I drive a 1988 Skyline I bought a few months ago. Just recently the headlights, parking lights have been turning themselves on while i'm driving, and also when im not in the car, which has killed my battery three times, and i've been told the lights are on 5 times or so also.
The headlights control is on the indicator stork, and when the lights come on, it is still in the off position, but they go off when you turn it further towards the off direction, so I think it is something with the stork thing.
Not sure what I should do, hoping someone here may be able to suggest an idea. See an auto-electrician, or I was thinking I could get a battery kill switch type thing and have my battery disconnected overnight.
Any input would be appreciated or if you need further details.
Cheers

I have a 1994 Cutlass Supreme that starts and shuts off quickly and the security light is lit. What is wrong?

i had the same problem , plus no brake lights , turning lights ! this trouble came from the blinker stem control , my friend had the same thing on his buick , inside the blinker stem is a very complex mechanism, but we spent the day carefully replacing it ,they sell them at auto plus!
