Starting trouble?

I have a T reg Ford Focus 1.8 petrol and sometimes it can take more than one attempt to start the engine. Could this be a bad sign?

Try turning the key on for 3 seconds and off for 5 seconds before turning the key to start. That forces the fuel pump to run and primes the gas line. If it always starts the first time when you do that, it indicates a fuel related problem.
