Question:
i just bought a 90 buick lesabre roadmaster today. i test drove it yesterday and today it was fine. on my way home it started to stumble and almost acted like it wanted to die when I stopped twice. What could it be? it has 103,500 miles, new brake lines, gas lines, alternator. everytime i start it it starts fine. one thing i noticed was at first it said it was almost empty, but when I push on the gas pedal the fuel needle goes up to a quarter. is it out of gas? would that affect it only when it is stopped. please help.

Is it possible for an altinator to provide to much power to the battery and if so how do you fix it?
I'm going to assume it's a LeSabre since I'm not aware of any Roadmasters made in 1990. Engine size? First, is it stumbling/almost stalling only when stopped? If so, have a look at the transmission fluid and go from there. Over/under the level could be a problem or anything on the dipstick will tell you something. Other things -fuel filter changed with gas lines? You could look underneath at the gas tank and see if their is a dent in it, I suppose if you were running below 1/2 full that could do something similar. More info would result in more conscise theories.Colorado Will a old carburator 750 Honda run ok at altitude?
