As long as you are sure that the left cable is actually from the starter you should be fine, the other cable will be negative by default.ihave 2000 buick century. had to replace the battery and now it won't start.?
Left or right has nothing to do with it because some batteries are oriented the other way. The red cable is positive and hooks to the post marked + on the battery. The black cable hooks to the - post.More Questions & Answers ...
