... that the cable on the left "from the starter" connects to the positive pole on a battery .... and the other one on the right ( " the grounded one") connects to the negative ?

Basically, yes.
The negative (-) cable, usually black, goes to ground.
The positive (+) cable, usually red, goes to the starter but not always directly.

Left or right has nothing to do with it because some batteries are oriented the other way. The red cable is positive and hooks to the post marked + on the battery. The black cable hooks to the - post.
