what kind of car?if you have an aluminum cylinder head and the threads on the plugs are galled your in trouble (big).
if it's just that they have been in there forever and a day you can sometimes work them out a little at a time with a good penetrating oil such as PB Blaster

a little pinatrating oil might help but you might want to take it to the shopUse some pb blaster. Of all of the looseners that is the best. Also try using a longer tool for more leverage. If you have backed them out a little spray the penetrating oil on the plugs and work them back and forth. That way you work the oil into the threads and it will make the plugs come right out. If you are using a ratchet get a pipe or use a socket and extension that fits over the ratchet to make it longer. Use slow steady pressure and you won't break the plugs.

Plenty of penetrating oil and plenty of patience. I like to use Gunk Liquid Wrench and pour it on liberally. Then work the plug out gradually by turning it out a little, then add some more pentrating oil, turn it back in again, then out again and repeat this sequence until the plug turn freely. If you add the oil in between out turn and in turn the oil has a chance to penetrate faster and deeper into the thread.My car was involved in an accident a few months ago?
almost impossible. you just need proper tools... deep well socket with spark plug insert. tap with hammer, its loose...Pretty sure you are doing this job with a crescent wrench or the wrong tools...good luck...More Questions & Answers ...
