Question:
front bumper, obviously someone had hit my car while the car was in the shop. I told the car shop and they "dont know how it happened." The huge dent/scratch wasnt there when I brought the car in for repairs...and now its all messed up. What are my options? The car shop hasnt denied that it happened while in their care, but they havnt offered to fix it or pay for it either (I assume bc they "dont really know how it happened")...what should I do? Also - I'm tight on money, so that's a huge reason this is such a big deal for me.

Is it weird for a girl to want to be an auto mechanic?
Tell the shop you want to file this with their insurance company, and inform yours. They should handle it for you.Alot of shops are like that. They should be legally bonded/ insured to take care of issues like this. What you need to do is go there with 2 or 3 other people and whoever is the best at talking needs to bring the issue up very loudly in front of a bunch of other customers. Tell them you wish to talk to the service manager. Be very insistent that you know that they did the damage and that you will settle for nothing other than it being repaired promptly. If they continue to make things difficult then you always have their corporate office (if they have one) or the city attorneys office or the better business bureau.
It doesn't matter if they say they know or don't know what happened to your car. If it's in their care, they are responsible for it. If You borrowed someones car, your responsible for it; because it's in your care. Insist that they repair it. That's what I did. But you have to push the issue until they live up to their responsibility. Don't stop till they fix it.
Tough call . sometimes we sign a document that says they are not liable for damage while it is in storage. But as someone said ... did they notice a dent before you did ? Do they acknowledge it may have happened on their property. Their insurance may or may not cover it. Ask the service rep or manager or owner for more information to get this started.
i'd take it back curse them out and make them fix it free of charge u should have never took it home that way now they can say it could have happened anywhere it was their fault. or dent they cars on the lot
