My poor Jeep's engine's days seem to be numbered. What engine could I replace it with? Any ideas? Japanese or European models would be better (I don't live in the U.S.)

I'm sure they have Chrysler engines where your are..You need to go with the V6 4.0 High Output engine that came in the jeeps.I have a 2000 Ford Explorer. She runs well but is knocking and pinging.?
I don't know if yours had the V6 or V8 (318). They may have offered another engine in your part of the world.
