My car idles way to high?

Question:
Ok I just put a low mile motor in my 1992 Dodge Stealth Twin Turbo and i cant figure out the idle. Some times it will idle at 1000 rpms, and sometimes it will idle at 3000 rpms, where ever it idles it is always very smooth and does not affect how the car runs. It is always VERY inconsistent, If the car is warmed up, cold, driven hard or easy, i can never predict if it will idle low or high. I pressure tested my intake system and boost system with and have no leaks, I have looked over all my other vacuums, changed my egr valve, changed my throttle body, throttle position sensor, and idle speed control sensor with no changes..(i had the stuff laying around, i didnt buy all that, lol) but it did idle good when i first put the motor in, and only after one of the intake hoses popped off and killed the car did this start to happen. I was thinking maybe the MAF, the engine check light doesnt come on either, so i dunno. Anyone else have any ideas of what might be the culprit?

If you are popping vacuum hoses off to boost pressure, you need to check your Power Brake Booster...Depending on brake pedal posion, it could be causing an internal vacuum leak...

Depending on how you pressure tested your intake system you may not be getting the whole story...Perhaps you need to spray some B-12 Carburator cleaner around all the intake, lower intake, and upper plenum...Spray all the vacuum lines, ect...If your idle increases, you have found your vacuum leak...

Where is turn signal fuid?

If none of that shows you anything...You need to take it to a shop with a Snap On computer or the equivalent...Then you can see your throttle counts, to make sure you computer isnt commanding your Idle Air Contol to idle up...

Radiator fan relay?

I just fixed this in my accord. Check the throttle cable near the throttle body. There should be a bracket holding the cable in place. On accords, there is a square-cross shaped nut on one side of the bracket and a normal nut on the other side. This puts a pre-load or tension on the cable. It might be that your old motor needed alot of tension. Loosen the normal nut and move down about 1/16 - 1/4 inch. Move the bracket to the new normal nut position. Loosen the cross nut and tighten down where the other stuff is. This should loosen the slack on the throttle cable and send it down about 1000 rpms when idling. Hope this works.
