Turn signal broken?

Question:
I drive a 1997 Ford F-150. My left turn signal has gone berzerk. When I flip it on, it blinks spastically in the front, but there is no blinking in the rear of the truck. However, when I turn on my right turn signal, it works normally. Does anyone have any idea what the issue is?

Shorty headers?

A blinker that flashes at twice the normal rate is telling you that one of the bulbs on that side of the vehicle needs replaced. You have already determined this to be the rear drivers side.

You should be able to fix it by changing the rear bulb. The front is spastic because the circuit isn't complete.

Try changing both bulbs and if that does not work try blinker relay under dash above brake pedal .But it should be the rear bulb

When it blinks fast like that, it is usually a fuse that needs to be replaced. Or the bulb, just read the above answers and they make more sense. I am not mechanical-sorry.

I've always found that when a blinker is going unusually fast it means you need to replace the one of the bulbs or one of the fuses.
