Astra 1.7 Diesel Major Brake Problem !?
Is it a turbo model - especially turbodiesel? The turbocharger on my BMW sounds like that, and it's off-putting at first, but you get used to it.The reason you hear it in low gears is you're revving higher so the turbo cuts in more.
if its a stick it might need gear oil, automatic i would check tranny fluid. if its four wheel or all wheel drive check transfer case fluids
i have exactly the same proble with mine too. i have a 2005 golf plus and the sound you describe occurs in low gears too.
my golf is a TDI model. done 25,000 miles.
annoying isnt it.
i keep meaning to take it in and ask the dealer but you know what they will say, they all do it.
let me know if you find out, mahoney300456@yahoo.co.uk
and drop me an e-mail so i can let you know if i find out first.
otherwise they are great cars.
cheers.
When I turn the heat or defrost on in my 2001 taurus, it blows out cool air. What's wrong with it?
Are you sure it is gearbox noise .My astra makes that noise but it is from power steering pump when stationery. 3000miles very suspicious .Can you check the oil levels before going to a dealer at least then you will know before hand what to expect. How to fix a power windows on 1993 Chevy Blazer?
Hi i had a fiat seicento 1.1i 2001 and mine made exactly the same noise. I was really obsessed about it and took it to about 3 different garages, however it never made the noise when they were listening (typical), one garage said it might be the gear box and it would cost £500 for a new one, they also said that if i didnt get a new one the noise would happen more often and get really loud. This never happened it just stayed the same, recently my neighbour has bought a fiat punto 2003 and i noticed hers does the same. So i came to the conclusion that is just a fault on fiats but if yours is doing it too then it might just be a common fault on specific cars, someone suggested it is injections that make the whirring noise and theres nothing wrong with it, if yours is an injection that could be the case.More Questions & Answers ...
