What happens if Dexron ATF is used in a Ford instead bof type F?

Gas on top of fuel pump after filling car. I had the fuel pump replaced b4 this started. 1st guy cut a hole.

If you use Dexron instead of Type F, the additives that the transmission needs are not there. It can cause the clutches and bands inside the transmission to slip and/or chatter and can cause the transmission to basically self destruct. If you have this fluid in your vehicle, I would drain it out or flush the system and install the correct fluid.

It'd wear the trans more quickly being the wrong fluid, might even burn it up... I would drain it out ASAP and put in the right fluid
