Question:
1989 Thunderbird. 114000 miles. It will almost never start on the first try. It doesnt even try. After it starts it does fine, except for a rough idle. Almost everything is new, all sensors, coil, plugs, wires, cap, rotor,O2 sensors, idle control valve, EGR, just about everything. The problem just started occuring about a month ago. compression in all cylenders is the same. Gas mileage hasnt seemed to change. The spark plugs are cheap Bosch's. Does anyone have any ideas?

2000 Civic, drove through some water, now engine wont start.?
you may have a vacuum leak that is causing the rough idle. You have checked the compression which would rule out the valve job or poor compression. However I do wonder if you may have a broken spring on one of the valves and it is not allowing the valve to open all the way. I would completely go over all the vacuum lines on that and check for any cracked or broken lines. Other then that does it seem to still have good power? If it does then I would look at the vacuum lines. What color is the Power steering fluid in the container..?
It's the carburator.i'm guessing its a vacuum leak or you need a valve job
