Question:
Will it hurt the engine if the spark plug wire is not connected to the spark plug when the engine is running?
Help! My car key won't turn in the ignition!?
Engine is a V8 327 (2 Barrel Carburator)
If the other spark plug wires are connected, but 1 or 2 isn't, will it hurt the motor or will it just act normal and not run on the cylinders?

PLEASE ANSWER ONLY IF YOU KNOW FOR SURE... I DON'T WANT TO BLOW MY MOTOR.
Thanks for any help!! :)

My steering wheel makes a clicking noise when turned full lock to the right...?
Well you can cause damage and you will have horrible gas mileage. Now if you’re just unplugging to wires to find a miss your fine. But leaving them off and driving down the road that can cause problems. You have created a dead hole in the cylinder. The other cylinders have to now increase their work load, not to mention you still have raw fuel being pulled in to the cylinder and then being pumped out. So it's a waste of gas. For simple trouble shooting at idle you have nothing to worry about. If you plan on driving it that way don’t do it. Fix what ever is wrong with it.i own a repair shop and the engine is going to have a real bad miss-fire in it ,and yes you damage it,i think you know better than to do this, put the wires back on it,before you do hurt it,good luck, hope this helps.,,,PS ,and i think my reputation speaks for its self here.
How do I get cigarette smell out of a new car?
Well it won't run "normal". There will be a definite miss and you'll be able hear, see, and feel it in the idle. It'll also have less power. As far hurting the engine.depends on how long you are talking.if you run it that way long term, you are going to get carbon build up in those cylinders/valves since gas will still be entering the cylinders, but won't be burned.

It should run with a miss (sort of skip) and with reduced power. The gas that goes into that cylinder will be pushed out the exhaust but should only be a minor problem. How do you change the car batterie in an 1994 Ford F150?
Fix it ,you will be polluting our air really bad with the unburned gas.Your crank will also suffer irregular wear.Constant power loss in my car even after a new battery was installed.is it an alternator problem?
THE CYLINDERS COULD FILL WITH FUEL AND HYDRAULIC THE MOTOR, BENDING RODS, PLUS THE MOTOR WILL HAVE VERY LITTLE POWERby not conecting a spark plug you are making a piston in active. it will still be moving up and down and the carb will still be giving it fuel but it wont do anything and the car will run like poop. if it s the number one hang it up it will really suck. no it shouldnt blow up. its not good for the engine.
Well than get some wires on it.
How do i get a paint job estimate online for my car?
no it will just run real rough just dont do it for along period of timeOldsmobile Cutlass 1998 Cruise Control?
limited use only. there will be raw fuel going through the cyl, down in to the oil. other than that, it could damage the cat. converter if it is equipped with one. just fix it thoughHaving one or two plug wires disconnected should not harm your engine at all. All of the cyclinders will still get lubricated which is what matters the most in preventing damage. I would not run an engine for a long time in this condition though.
