Any tricks to replacing thermostat in '97 Chevy S-10 4.3L ? Haven't done any of this since the '70's, Thanks

I used to work for Arnold Clark as a technician and they are well known for crap customer care. If the brake fluid wasn't topped up that would be down to the individual who worked on the car and it shouldn't have happened.
Where the shoddiness comes in is when the sales cars are checked over prior to purchase, and the technician provides the sales manager a report of what needs done, the sales manager tries his best to do the least amount possible to maximise the money made from the car. It's not unusual for another car to donate parts to avoid having to buy new ones.
Where most people get upset with Arnold Clark is when the salesperson doesn't want to hear from you after the sale when you have one or two little niggles with the car. this starts a distrust with the whole organisation that only gets worse.
When a company is as big as Arnold Clark everything revolves around sales figures and efficiencies. Quality comes a poor second.

96' Honda CRV automatic locks don't work...?

I'm surprised to hear that, his garages are normally pricey for servicing but normally pretty on the ball with regards to workmanship.

Low beam headlight not working sometimes?

No,Iv'e bought my last two cars from AC.[Kilmarnock] and had good service with no problems.

97 Ford Taurus, engine won't shift over into next gear after 30 mph when driving, what's the problem? Help

AC Renault at Bearsden once emptied my full screenwash bottle so they could charge me six quid to refill it. On the same service they told me the brakes would need replacing "before the next service". The brake wear warning light came on during the drive home.... I don't go to Arnold Clark any more.

Pennsylvania Residents?

Shoddy work (and shoddy treatment) seems to be a regular ocurrance with arnold clark gargages. The website arnoldsucks.com has loads of bad luck stories and whilst I can't vouch for those, my own experience is similar. Abrand new Volvo has had a number of simple problems made far worse by visits to Arnold Clark dealerships, our case is ongoing, but the law entitles you to expect good service if you pay an appropriate price for it. I'd contact Trading Standards if I were you
