Question:
I am thinking about buying a 96 Mazda 626 from a private owner. It's clean too. After test driving the car, I notice that sometimes while accelerating, the car seems to jump a gear or rev real high. Sometimes if I cxome off the gas, it seems to jump out of gear. It's an automatic. I'm no mecahnic but I'm hoping this problem is just the result of the car sitting so long.

Does belt tension make any noises in the engine?
i own a repair shop ,an unfortunately its not from sitting too long the transmission is going out on it ,and they just want rid of it,if you can buy it really cheap though you can afford to either put a good used tranny in it or have that one re-built,but that's how they do when there going out, good luck with it,and be careful don't get burned on this one, hope this helps.I need a timing belt diagram, for 1998 daewoo nubira, 1.6lite 16v twin cam.?
If it makes a whining noice in first and reverse gear it has trasmission problems.BIIIG expense if it's auto, check the transmission oil too if it's automaticHow do i reset my cars computer? it cut all power. i have 96 range rover. please help?
The '96 626 is a rebadged Ford car, which are known for having horrible transmissions. I would recommend avoiding this car like the plague. However, if you really want it check the transmission control mechanism and the torque converter. Those are most likely your culprits.Toyota Corolla 93 brakes padles got too soft and not work properly?
If they are decent people, they will not care, and will welcome an inspection if you choose to pay for it. Tell them where you would like to take it and go there with them. You can get a car inspected at many many shops for not alot of money (1hr labor cost or so). They will have a look at it and tinker with it a bit, and it could save you thousands of dollars... or it could be a $5 part and you get a great car.
Anyone own an oldsmobile bravada and have mechanics knowledge?

Is their a way of making a car engine go silent using ash?even if its an old engine?
it all depends on how old the car is and how much they want for it. i would suggest going to a garage and having them do a overall review of the car. if you tell them you are thinking of buying the car and you just want them to check it out they will usaully look at it for free. some garages will not do this for free though. just something to keep in mindHow can i get better gas millage from my suv?
stay away from it.it sounds like tranny trouble to me.your looking at big bucks to fix it.better keep looking around for another car.sorry to have to tell you this, but i wouldnt want to see you get taken.More Questions & Answers ...
