Question:
Headlights automatically come on when car is started. when i start the car now the park lights are on, but no headlights. But for some weird reason it seems like headlights are possibly wired with the heater. Yesterday night I started the car heat was on and headlights were on. The heat cut off and at same time headlights went out. When I turned the heat off the lights cam back on. When I turn the heat to 5 the headlights come on but go back out and heat shuts off. If heat is on no headlights. Not sure exactly if im sayin this right or what the problem could be. When I was driving yesterday lights kept turning off and on. Please if anyone has had or knows what the problem is please help. Not sure if i'm describing this right.

I was very suprised to find many complaints about the very problem you are having. Seems the ignition switch is the fix. Hope this helps. No room to loosen a power steering hose?
Customer Concern: Daytime Running Lights (DRL) not functioning if the blower motor is on. If the Blower Motor is switched to the off position, the DRL's work properly. New DRL diode.
Tests/Procedures: 1. Check for voltage at the "DIC/HVAC" fuse (in the Instrument Panel (IP) Fuse Box), during the problem mode.

sounds like an short somewhere, possibly a relay that comes and goes or even a bad ground. find a good pontiac dealer and have it looked at they may have seen this problem before and can save you some time and money over an independent repair facility
Is it weird for a girl to want to be an auto mechanic?
It sounds to me like you had a ground fault in either( if they don't already share a ground) your seat heater circuit or headlight circuit and whichever one failed is now getting its ground from the other one. This would cause too much current in that circuit and would trip a circuit breaker, thus shutting off both systems. If you or someone you know can read wiring diagrams, get a Chilton's or something similar and check out your ground circuits. You may have a short to ground somewhere in the circuit. Hope this helps. Now that is one weird problem...I've only run into something similar once.
My distributor cap and rotor are in good shape but still I dont have spark?
First, do you have a "fog light" switch? It is probably on the dash. If so, make sure it is "off". Does some, or all of the problem go away?
Ok, if nothing, try moving the ignition key a little, like jiggle it, while lights and heat are on...do things change?
My point is that when "cross symptoms" happen between two different sections of wiring, the culprit sometimes traces back to the steering column, or more accurately the multi function switch, or ignition switch/module.

If jiggling doesn't give a hint, the only suggestion is to take it to a dealer...they are best equipped to find those sorts of things...higher priced, but better than headache pills.
