Any horror stories about buying a 2002 gran caravan 3.8 litre engine?

Thinking of buying a 2002 Gran Caravan 3.8 litre with 110,000 miles on it for 6,000 dollars. Anyone know about the transmission history? Or the engine? Has been taken care of . Synthetic oil every 3000 miles ect. Nice condition. No accidents. Know the owner. All freeway miles.

I have a 2002 Grand Caravan and it's been great !
I could do the conversion, but it only has 92,000 Kmh's and it has never needed anything yet outside of regular maintenance.
Motor & Tranny have been great and I tow a boat and still no tranny problems ever yet.
For towing and hauling the family to & from the cottage...I'd buy it :-)

Please don't buy one. For some reason Dodge has yet been able to come up with a decent Caravan. They seem to look Ok, but for some reason are very prone to serious problems. And with over 100K miles, not a chance.

Yes I had mine rebuilt twice at the price of 2600.00 each time. Actually it was three times after the warranty went out and they were willing to pay for half of it then. but the other two times I paid. I will never buy any Chrysler product ever. !!
I now own only Toyota products. I have 130,000 on each and they purr like kittens.
Just had them smogged and they are clean as a whistle. So consider that as well.

Lot of miles but not uncommon in America these days, The engine has an excellent reputation, the trannys in the past did not, they are much better now. You mention service on the engine, how about the transmission? Other than that, stay with synthetic oil.
