When I warm up the car in the morning there's a rattling sound. The sound stops when I depress the clutch but then starts up again when the vehicle starts rolling. 5th gear was working until today but then it started kicking out of gear while I was driving. Now it won't shift into 5th. Any help?

I would say right off the noise is the throw-out bearing. The problem with 5th gear could be a few different things. I would say either/or replace the whole transmission or tear the tranny apart and repair/replace the bad parts . Either way the clutch assembly is going to need to be replaced. A shop might charge a lot for this amount of work so unless you pockets run deep or you just love this car you might want to sell it/trade it or if repairs are what you want either do it yourself or find a friend...What damage can stalling do to a car?

The rattle is probably a throwout bearing - that's in your clutch assembly. Your fifth gear could have a bad synchro. If that's the case, you can get it rebuilt or get another at a salvage yard.What do i do if i put a small amount of unleaded in a diesel engine?
