1986 Chevy Monte Carlo?

MOT advisory means the pipes are not sufficiently corroded to warrant an MOT failure, but will soon become dangerous if not attended to.

Will not be too expensive at your local garage (200 pounds sounds about right). Don't use a main dealer though.

I own a 1994 Saab 900s,some times the light check gearbox appears and the car stops shifting.?

It is not worth messing around with your brakes. Play safe and have them replaced.

What are the MOT requirements for a car in UK?

if it's an advisory then theres every chance they will need renewing for the next MOT. If it the pipe that crosses the back wheels then it's a two hour job to fit and bleed. £120 would be fair plus the pipe

Problem with temp gauge in Ford Laser Lxi 2000 going up to halfway with travel of under 1 km? Anyone else?

it will mean the brake pipes mentioned are showing signs of surface corrosion, rub them with sandpaper and coat them with grease and they will last a good while.

Engine stalling?

I would imagine it is just surface pitting. Rub the metal pipes with a wire brush or Emery cloth. Nothing to worry about.

Does the interfearence motor always Bend Valves if the timing belt breaks,?

Depends - copper pipes aren't that expensive - most car accessory shops can have them made on site - just need to re route them and bleed the brakes - about an hour per side dependant on length and route. If not too bad just rub them over with wire wool or sandpaper and paint or coat in a sealer of some type - they will last longer that way.

I dont no whats wrong with my car?

If they are the rubber pipes with the steel end mounts - these can be bought at any car accessory shop/dealer (or ordered) and fitted quite easily - about half an hour to fit and bleed system. Rubber corrosion (as some say) will need replacing as they can tend to split.

Tell me if this is a good deal?

Did my car myself last year and it took me an hour to do.

Car question?

In all fairness - don't mess with brake safety - if in doubt get them replaced - 2 hours max - £100 approx

Should I buy a new engine?

What are brake pipes? Maybe they mean brake lines. I have never seen a 7 year old car that needed new brake lines. You need to take it to a mechanic you trust and have it checked out. I have a 24 year old truck, and a 20 year old car, and neither one needs brake lines.

After replacing a heater core that was leaking, not much heat now...too much air in the system?

Pipes need replacing, they are plastic coated steel when first fitted but when replaced are copper so they will not need replacing for same problem.

Why wont my ford3000 tractor start without starter fluid?

Exactly what it means.your brake pipes are rusted. To repair between 30 to 50 pounds roughly.

What's exactly done and what things get replaced in a tune up?

I have worked on Volvo's for 25 years and i never replaced brake pipes on a V40.

Will replacing the air filter on my 306 d turbo with a pair of tights over inlet manifold help preformance?

The brake pipes are located under the car close to the wheel arches, as a result they have the full force of nature on them. They can have surface corrosion after some time but the cost of replacing them is relatively inexpensive and not very time consuming.
