Question:
The ABS light came on in my 2000 Explorer. I just wanted to get some opinions as to what the problem might be before I have it looked at. Hopefully, it is something relatively simple to remedy. Thanks!

How much will a wheel cylinder cost me?
It maybe the speed sensor on your truck. When my ABS light came on and stayed on it was the speed sensor.
You need to go to a mechanic and they will get a diagnostic tool to read the code. The diagnostic tool will tell them what the problem is.
What is the best way to wash a car??
Something is wrong with your Anti-Lock Brakes and when you brake hard your wheels will lock up. Taking it in to get it looked at is the best idea but if you dont care about anti-lock brakes then dont worry about it. Thats what i did for alomost a year until i got a new car.Is it hard to install a K&N FIPK for a 2000 Mercury Grand Marquis?
Abs lights are very sensitive and most of the time the reason they come on is because the wheel bearing is starting to go..when the bearing starts to go it causes a bit more vibration that usual wich makes the abs light come on..but i would start with having my breaks checked to see if they are worn ..it may also just be the abs sensor wire is worn..bring it in and have it checked first and what ever you do allways get more than one estimate ..i know alot of people who have abs lights that come on their dash and there is nothing wrong with the system at all so they just live with the light being on..put some electrical tape over the light and forget about it.what dopes..the main reasion light comes on is bad sensor...simple to fix but sometimes costly because they only come with wheel bearing set on some 4x4s On my chevy i removed the fuse until i could afford to fix it 450 dollars with bearings and sensors...yours may just need sensor.,,75 to 125 dollars.Get ford sensors...they cost more but the "cheap" ones fail more often and gaurentee doesnt include labor.
more than likley your rf spd sens or bad front wheel bearings i replace them on a weekly basis on exploders take it in have it scanned then osilicoped then diagnosed no biggi i would not worry too much unless your front end is in bad shape
