Question:
clio oasis 1.2 1996 model clutch springs up halfway through releasing how to i stop it doing this and there are no small plates to look at underneath the engine as i was advised to ckeck to see if it was just needing lubrication please help as it is annoying.
Answers:
The second possibility is that the clutch pedal needs to be lubricated, this is a pig of a job to do as it is under the dash and in all fairness is probably not the cause of your problem.
The third and unfortunately most expensive is that the clutch plated is not sliding over the input shaft of the gear box smoothly. This can be as a result of wear on the splines of the input shaft or through rust on the splines.
Unfortunately the only way to have this checked out and repaired is to have the clutch removed. Try Mr Clutch in the yellow pages as they are very cheap.
the most likely cause of this is a worn clutch cable.
cheap and easy enough to replace.
swap it for a VW
