2005 dodge neon.?

There can be several reasons why this is happening. The most easy to repair is if the clutch cable is damaged (Frayed or split). Change the cable to solve this.
The second possibility is that the clutch pedal needs to be lubricated, this is a pig of a job to do as it is under the dash and in all fairness is probably not the cause of your problem.
The third and unfortunately most expensive is that the clutch plated is not sliding over the input shaft of the gear box smoothly. This can be as a result of wear on the splines of the input shaft or through rust on the splines.
Unfortunately the only way to have this checked out and repaired is to have the clutch removed. Try Mr Clutch in the yellow pages as they are very cheap.

What's wrong with my car?!?
