Why does my turn signal lights stay on when I press the brakes?
I think that it typically is easy to do, and I agree with one of the responses above about how to do it. However, there may be a reason that this is going to be $100. If your throttle plate is excessively dirty, they may want to remove it in order to be able to clean it most effectively. Also, you did not tell us what kind of a vehicle you have, and I know from personal experience at my shop that some will require an idle relearn procedure using a factory scan tool afterward. This is because when the throttle plate is cleaned, it will actually open up more space between the wall of the plenum and the throttle plate when it sits in the same position. This is especially true of fly-by-wire systems. I just wanted you to know that there is no way for us to know whether the service being recommended to you is necessary or not. If you do not trust their judgement, then I recommend taking it to another facility for a second opinion. As I first step, I suggest asking them to explain to you why the service is required and why does the cost seem so high to you. Another recommendation of mine is to say, "no offense, but if you do not completely understand how this component and service works, please allow me to talk to an ASE certified professional technician so that they can give me accurate technical information." The reason for this is that I cannot say how many times I've seen a service advisor talk about a technical subject they know nothing about. It's not that they are trying to deceive you, they just think they know more than they really do in many cases. Hope this info helps, just wanted to give you another angle. I don't think that they're trying to rip you off, there is probably a communication problem and I'm sure they'll answer your questions satisfactorily. If your car is running fine with no issues, then no. Having a throttle cleaned isn't normal maintenance and usually doesn't need to be done. Premium fuel will only help if you have a throttle body or a carburetor, in which case, a simple can of Carb/Choke cleaner will do the trick.
No pressure in radiator hose on 99 sunfire??
If your car is running fine, leave it alone, there is no need. I've never heard of a throttle being blocked, but i do suppose its possible.
What Size tires can i put on my 1986 monte carlo ss without modifing anything?
it is a ripoff. u can do it yourself with some solvent like carb and choke cleaner. remove the big hose off the throttle body. its the hose coming off the air filter box. u will see a circular flap. push this open and take a toothbrush and scrub with solvent. wipe with paper towel or rag. u only need to do the first couple of inches where the flap is so the flap doesnt get gummed up and stuck. it really doesnt have to be done that often.I have a chocolate stain on my cloth car seat, any suggestions?
you may need a throttle body cleaning and a upper intake flush If your cars mileage has dropped off and it idles rough it may be time it is normal for this to happenWhat happens if I run my 2001 Malibu without a thermostat?
